- Overview
1.1. This competition (the “Competition”) is organized and administered by Lion Containers Ltd. (the “Promoter”).
1.2. By participating in the Competition, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and confirm that you meet all eligibility criteria below.
- Eligibility
2.1. The Competition is open to individuals who:
- Are aged 18 or over at the time of participation.
- Reside in the United Kingdom.
2.2. Employees of the Promoter, their immediate families, or anyone else professionally connected to this Competition are not eligible to participate.
2.3. Votes must be cast for charities that are registered with one of the following:
- Charity Commission for England and Wales,
- Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR)
2.4. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of participants and nominated charities.
- How to Participate
3.1. To take part, participants must vote using this web page form during the Competition Period and submit their vote for a chosen charity.
3.2. Participants may only submit one vote per verified email address.
3.3. Votes made on behalf of another person or through automated or bulk entries are not permitted and will be disqualified.
3.4. No purchase is necessary to participate in the Competition.
- Competition Period
4.1. The Competition will open at 8:00am on 29th November 2024 and close at 11:59pm on 15th December 2024.
4.2. Votes submitted after the closing date and time will not be counted.
- Prize
5.1. The Prize consists of a new (one trip) 20ft shipping container (including delivery to most areas of mainland Britain) from the Promoter to the UK-registered charity that receives the highest number of votes.
5.2. The winning charity will be notified within 14 days of the closing date and announced via email.
5.3. The Prize will be paid directly to the winning charity within 30 days of notification, subject to successful verification of their eligibility.
5.4. No alternative prizes, substitutions, or cash equivalents will be offered.
- Use of Personal Data
6.1. By participating in the Competition, you consent to the Promoter collecting, processing, and storing your personal data, including your email address, for the purpose of administering the Competition.
6.2. By submitting your vote, you will also be subscribed to the Promoter’s email list, allowing you to receive updates, promotional offers, and other marketing communications.
6.3. You may opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any promotional email.
6.4. All personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws and the Promoter’s Privacy Policy, which can be accessed on our Privacy Page.
- Responsibilities and Disqualifications
7.1. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that their vote is submitted correctly and that their email address is valid and accessible.
7.2. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any participant who:
- Provides false or misleading information,
- Uses multiple email addresses to submit multiple votes, or
- Otherwise breaches these terms and conditions.
7.3. Any attempt to tamper with or undermine the legitimate operation of the Competition may result in disqualification and potential legal action.
- Liability
8.1. The Promoter will not be held responsible for:
- Votes lost, delayed, or corrupted due to technical or connectivity issues,
- Any unauthorized access to or alteration of submissions, or
- Any loss, damage, or injury arising from participation in the Competition or acceptance of the Prize.
8.2. Nothing in these terms limits the Promoter’s liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.
- Publicity
9.1. By participating in the Competition, you agree that the Promoter may use anonymized data regarding the outcome for promotional purposes, including announcing the winning charity on social media or other platforms.
9.2. No personal data will be disclosed without the explicit consent of the participant.
- Amendments and Cancellation
10.1. The Promoter reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions or cancel the Competition if circumstances outside its reasonable control make it necessary to do so.
10.2. Any changes will be communicated via website, social media and / or email notification.
- Governing Law
11.1. These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
11.2. Any disputes arising from or connected with the Competition will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
