“Hello, we hold a quarterly farmers market in Somerset, and are looking into how we can use containers. Our markets are held in the middle of the street, and initially we were looking at having a basic 20ft container for storage of tables, chairs and gazebos. We are still interested in this, but after looking at your site, we thought about having some container stalls (for flowers, plants, fruit and veg) and also some toilets. Can you send us some info please? Any other ideas will be gratefully received. Regards, Rachel”
Hello Rachel, thank you for your enquiry. We are having a lot of enquires come through to Lion Containers Ltd this spring to help dedicated farmers out with their farmers market. Since you will be using a 20ft container for storing chairs, tables and gazebos, I would recommend a 20ft quality used A grade container. This unit is guaranteed for 2 years against wind damage and is watertight. This will do the job perfectly for storage. We even offer a guaranteed ‘buy back’ on our units, which is valid within 5 years of purchasing your container. So if you need to sell it back, just get back in touch with us on 0333 600 6260.
To meet more bespoke requirements, we manufacture and modify container units to suit our customers’ needs. So when it comes to creating stalls to house your flowers, plants, fruit and vegetables, we have the right team for the job. This does not apply solely to farmers, but also to craft suppliers, local cheese suppliers, and even beer and cider suppliers. Your container even has an option to be re-painted in any colour you wish. This will give it a nice spring season feeling and can incorporate your company colours to help you stand out in the crowds.
We are very experienced when it comes to container modifications and brand new builds, so we will definitely be able to help you out! In the past, we have supplied customers with many onsite toilet facilities, for all kinds of industries. These units are tamper proof and very secure. We are able to provide you with both male and female toilets blocks, disabled toilets (DOC M Approved), or a mix of all three! We can also incorporate showers and changing areas into these units. Just let us know what space you have available onsite, how many people intend to use it and how often. Our team will then design a unit to suit you! Throughout our various UK depots we also hold standard equipment such as 2 + 1 toilets, single toilets, combi and single water tanks.
Recommended Accessories
We offer a range of accessories such as;
windows; to allow a nice breeze to pass through and ensure your plants are not suffocated! But, as is typical with the unpredictable British weather, on rainy summer days when windows need to be closed, fitted louvre vents help keep the air flowing around your container.
As the weather starts to warm up and flowers start to bloom, it is very important they are looked after and cared for properly. Daily access to your container can be made so much easier by fitting one of our easy access personnel doors, or even roller shutters! These doors are extremely secure as they are fitted with a 10 point locking system as standard, and come with up to six keys for you and your team.
Some other options and container types to consider might be;
A side opening container. These adapted containers allow access from the original cargo doors (as you would find on your standard container), but also from the side cargo doors. Examples of previously converted side opening containers are those used as canteens, complete with serving hatch. It is important to say however, that these containers are not only good for businesses serving food. They are suitable for a whole host of other businesses, particularly those offering products to their customers.
Another great choice would be a tunnel container. This particular unit has cargo doors at each end of the container, allowing you to store items, and get items in and out of the container with ease. An alternative idea I would recommend is heavy duty long span shelving. The reason I think this would be so great is because it will allow you to store all your plants and equipment, easily and tidily, with no mess and clutter on the container’s marine ply floor.
