Throughout 2015 we have worked a variety of clients from all sorts of industries such as offshore, construction, events, education, retail, Ministry of Defence, leisure and not forgetting the few hundred private individuals as well. We have created numerous bespoke units that have been shipped out around the UK for all sorts of unique uses. With an allocated sales representative, the entire process of transforming these marvellous steel units is made simple and enjoyable. The sales, design and admin teams at Lion Containers Ltd have grown again this year; as more dedicated staff join our team, our customer base also grows with them leading to more works and greater experience making our modifications, product knowledge and customer service, first class. Our team love meeting and talking with our clients, to work together brain storming ideas their ideas, and recommending our own to design and produce the products that they envisage.
There are several projects we have enjoyed working on this year, but there have been a few in particular that have really stood out! Our top 15 modifications for 2015 (in no particular order) are:
?
?University Travel Hub Container >> We created a travel hub container for one of our previous clients who required the unit for the bus service at one of the university campuses. During the conversion the unit was split into three sections as per the clients brief which included a storage area, office and customer service section. This unit was required urgently so it could be used in time for the new educational year. We worked closely with our client to design, manufacture and deliver the container in just three months. |
Art Supplier Offices >> These quirky offices were made for a client who works in retail for art and paint supplies, they approached us with a simple brief to provide some bright, unique offices for their staff to work from. Our client owns several shops in London and the offices were sited inside their new storage warehouse, which as you can imagine, provided us with quite a task for delivery. A member of our sales team oversaw the delivery in Folkestone which involved a number of drivers, lots of team work and several cups of tea! This is one of our favourites simply because of the bold colours, stunning windows and originality. ? |
Football Stadium Bar and Cellar >> Our client for this project was a manufacturer of traditional hand pull beer pumps and drink dispensing equipment. The unit we manufactured was for use at a well-known football stadium at first and would then be uplifted to travel around the UK. We worked together to build a specification for the container bar and cellar unit which was brought to life weeks later. |
Electrical Control and Monitoring Containers for the Energy Industry >> We worked closely with a company who manufactures energy cables for land application across the UK and in other parts of the world. Our client was looking to replace the two worn out containers they had on site with two new units. We built two heavily modified containers which were used as an electrical control room and a store. |
Ordnance Explosion Viewing Platform & Testing Station >> We used two 20ft containers to create an Ordnance Explosion Viewing Platform and Testing Station for our client who was based in Newcastle. The units were heavily modified both internally and externally using bespoke fittings that were designed and made by our team of modification experts. These containers will be transported to various sites around the country and used for a variety of explosion testing. |
Water Treatment and Sewer Repair Training Rig >> We built a 5 container 3 tier confined space entry rig, for a company who provide waste management and industrial cleaning services across the UK. Our client is the preferred supplier to the water, infrastructure, industrial, government and domestic sectors, and the rig was to be used as part of their training process. It was built to replicate the confined conditions their teams find themselves in when repairing sewers, unblocking drains, and cleaning large tanks and tunnels. |
Bespoke Home Office >> This home office was built for a client in West Wales who was looking for a good size space to work in. We custom built a container to meet the requirements of the council which would allow our client to site the unit on his land. A site visit was carried out before the unit was fabricated to ensure that there would be no issues with the delivery. These units are becoming ever more popular for self-employed business owners, small companies and are even used as living and play spaces for families. |
Chemical Store and Paint Process Facility >> For this build, our client presented us with their own design of a modified 10ft container that would be used as a chemical store and paint process facility. With a few tweaks to the design we created this unit along with several others that would be shipped on the back of vehicles for use around the world. Due to the challenging environments that the containers would be housed in, the unit had to be robust, high quality and reliable. |
A Mile in My Shoes Exhibition >> A fantastic project, we worked with Thames Festival Trust to create this unit for the debut event for The Empathy Museum. The shell of the container was made using a standard 20ft new container which was fitted with large patio doors and lined internally. The designers for the event carried out further external works as shown on the photos to create a shoe box effect for the project. |
High Voltage Equipment Enclosure Container >> An electrical wholesale company based in Stoke on Trent contacted us regarding a high voltage equipment enclosure. We utilised a 40ft new (once shipped) high cube tunnel container for this project, and split it into three sections with various access points. |
Bespoke Modular 40ft x 16ft Food Store >> Our client based in Leicestershire contacted us seeking a solution for food storage. Utilising two 40ft containers we designed and created a bespoke storage area to suit our clients requirements of storing three pallets in a row. We removed one long side of each container and joined the units on site followed by some onsite paintwork to blend the units in with their surroundings. |
Farm Container Home >> A private client based in Bristol approached us with the challenge of delivering several containers to his farm which would be used for living space! This container home was built using some of our prefabricated units that are easily adaptable to suit individual requirements. Along with the housing units our client has also had some storage containers delivered to site for his farming equipment. |
World Champion Boat Racing Team Workshop >> A Client from a World Champion Boat Racing Team approached us earlier this year to create a workshop that would be used for repairs and adjustments to boats during the racing season. We worked closely with our client to design a hard wearing workshop inside a 40ft high cube tunnel container and the build itself was turned around in just 4 weeks. |
Biometric Turnstile Container >> An existing client of ours approached us regarding a container to house a turnstile. The client in question offers security solutions, including CCTV, to many different industries. A 10ft container was used, and a specific turnstile was fitted at the request of our client who supplied it to us. |
Chemical and Fuel Storage Unit >> We designed and built a purpose built caged chemical store for our Tonbridge based client. Our client wanted to store IBCs within the unit, so the floor and bund needed to be built to take both the weight of the IBCs and the capacity of the fluid in the event of any spills. |
