Now that Fathers Day has passed and we have celebrated our Fathers with gifts and love, I am here planning for Fathers Day 2016. My father is a typical handyman and loves fixing, decorating and building various things around the house without the aid of experts or professionals. He lives by the DIY rule when things go wrong and to be honest, he is actually is good at it. The only downside is the clutter, noise and rattling when hes looking for his tools, he drives my mother insane.
For Fathers Day 2016 I have planned out the perfect gift for my father, a bespoke tool box in the garden. He doesnt really have any large tools or machinery so an
8ft shipping container will be perfect for him. These containers come over to the UK as part of a mini set which consists of 2 x 6ft containers within 2 x 8ft containers within 2 x 10ft containers. The 10ft containers are joined and certified as one 20ft container, clever huh?

Lets start off by lining and insulating this 8ft container with a thicker grade of ply wood at 18mm and glass wool insulation. This form of lining will reduce the condensation within the unit preventing the tools getting rusty, give a balanced room temperature and a professional finish. The thickness of the lining will also allow for hooks and
shelving to be screwed to the walls so my father can hang and store his tools. We obviously dont want the tools scattered all over the place so to suit the range of tools we will install an adjustable shelving system with mesh cage doors. The mesh cage doors can also be lockable which is perfect for anti-theft. Also to ensure the container is secure there will be a
high security lockbox fitted across the double doors with an insurance rated padlock.

We will also install a single florescent light, switch, a few 13 amp sockets for loud noise, an RCD consumer unit and finally a 240v external socket for inlet, a
perfect electrics package for a DIY man. We can also erect a workbench constructed by 50×50 box section and with a final finish of ply perfect for crafting DIY magic.
And there we have it, the perfect tools shed for my father next Fathers Day, but remember it doesnt always have to be a present or something bought with money, love and bond is the best gift a father can get.
