I supply flowers and plants to a chain of garden centres, and I’ve been reading about growing plants inside shipping containers in my farming magazine. I think this would benefit us, so can you send me some info please? Cheers, Roger
Hi Roger. As you have already found out, growing flowers inside containers is great! We have extensively researched using containers for this purpose, as, over the years, we have been approached by a lot of garden centres. Plants grow through the process of photosynthesis, as I’m sure you already know. They need sunlight and the chemical inside their leaves called Chlorophyll, in order to convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose to help them grow. As you can see there is no mention of soil, so really plants do not need any soil to grow. They do however need water and nutrients, which can be easily obtained from soil. If they can get these elements from elsewhere, such as a nutrient rich solution, then soil is no longer needed. So how can Lion Containers Help?
Why not use your shipping container for all of your gardening needs? We can build a bespoke grow room, so you are able to grow as many plants and flowers as you like. You could even convert your container into a Green House. We can offer you many different accessories to help you through summer, getting your flowers and vegetables looking their best. These include a range of shelving systems to organise all your garden equipment, from planting pots and hanging baskets to your ride on lawnmowers. How about fitting skylights and large windows into your container, to ensure much needed sunlight. Watering systems can also be installed, making sure your flowers and vegetables are always watered at the correct times whatever the season!
So whatever your needs – flowers, vegetables or shrubs – we can find the container for you. Please call 0333 600 6250 for more details.
