Container Case Study
Originally this enquiry was for container storage, with a re-paint in bright red and yellow. However, after informing the customer about our different conversions, the customer then considered converting one of the containers into a merchant unit.
Different conversion options were offered to the customer, in order to create a merchant store according to their requirements. We suggested the installation of roller shutters, a hatch with shutters and a personnel door to provide ease of access. After showing the customer some sample photographs and explaining the products in more detail regarding how each conversion could benefit them and their event, they placed an order.
Regarding the merchant unit we took a 20ft new high cube container, prepared and masked the door gears and seals, and painted it to Pantone Red 485C. We then created an 8ft (W) x 4ft (H) aperture for the window, and installed a custom built lockable steel flat panel shutter with appropriate waterproof seal, tie backs (to avoid shutters from slamming), and rain run-off strip above door. For the door we created an aperture and box frame, and installed a standard insulated weatherproof personnel door (W 910mm x H 2065mm Including Frame – with 90 degree opening of 710mm). The door had a 10 point locking system, with 5 pin anti-drill Euro profile cylinder and full door furniture. Again, a tie back was included to avoid the door slamming and a rain run-off strip provided above the door. A high security lockbox was also fitted.
